Meet Trea! She has been with Lucky K9 Rescue since August 2017 when she was reported as having been tied to a tree for TEN MONTHS STRAIGHT in the Ozark area of Missouri. A local person saw Trea chained to the tree and worked to get help for some time. She stopped by and fed her every day while continuing to reach out for help to different shelters and rescues. Due to some rescues not having the means to help Trea, and the fear that others might put her down without assessing her first, someone reached out to one of the Lucky K9 board members and we agreed we were able to help. It was not an easy process to bring Trea home with us due to "red tape," but with everyone working together for Trea's best interest, she eventually made it to the home of one of our board members who has been able to provide her with a feeling of security in her own space. However, Trea's fears and anxieties are far from being over. Trea is a very sweet girl but she has a lot of fear of people, anxiety about being alone outside, and loud noises terrify her! She has developed the trust of her "sanctuary mom," and this is the only person Trea will allow to pet her. Whether or not Trea will ever become adoptable, we don't know, we do know that Trea is living a better life than she was almost 2 years ago, and that's cause for celebration. Please support us in our efforts to keep working with Trea to help make her the happiest and most well-adjusted dog she can be!
