Core Care Programs
Sanctuary Paws Program
Our primary mission is taking in dogs who are at risk of euthanasia, abandoned, or have significant intake costs. Many of our dogs are sanctuary dogs.
Litter Patrol Program
At the start of 2023 a Lucky K9 board member made a resolution to stop the overpopulation of dogs in our area by offering spay/neuter services through our veterinarian.
Paws For Care Program
The Paws for Care Program affords us the opportunity to take in dogs who are at risk with extensive medical needs which need to be taken care of prior to being available for adoption.
Financial Support for Long-term Care
Sanctuary Paws
Program

A sanctuary dog with Lucky K9 is a senior or high medical needs dog, and in some cases dogs with behavioral needs, that would most likely not be adopted due to the cost of their higher needs (medication, training, hospice care, etc).
Sanctuary dogs cost the rescue approximately $12,000-$15,000 a year. While that may not sound like a lot, that is almost half of our donations on an annual basis. As a small rescue we do all we can for the unwanted and at risk dogs.
