We are happy to introduce you to sanctuary foster, Miss Penelope Cruz! As you can tell from her sweet wrinkly, smooshed face and underbite, she’s an English bulldog. Miss Penelope had a rough road before she made it to my home. She was used as a backyard breeding dog, forced to have litter upon litter. Her little belly bares the scars of many c-sections. She was neglected and abused, her only purpose to make money for whoever it was who had her. Luckily for Penelope animal control was notified and stepped in. The day she was rescued, she was found locked in a small kennel in a closet, missing portions of hair and in terrible condition. Lucky K9 pulled her from animal control, and her future took a turn for the better!
When she came her foster home, she was a dog who was emotionally shut down. See, she’s a senior girl at roughly 8 years old, and she’s never had a chance to be a dog. She has a warm, comfortable bed and a house full of two and four legged siblings who welcomed her with open arms. As time passed and she learned what it meant to have a family and experience love, her personality truly blossomed. She plays with her fur siblings, and she’ll even run on occasion! Her favorite pastime is leaning in for pets and scratches. She’s sweet and sassy, and boy does she love her snacks! She will even tell you so when you aren’t sharing with her.
