Elmer has cancer...
We were asked by a volunteer to pull Elmer... We ask what was wrong, we told her we would figure it out... Elmer was dumped by his owner, after 7 years of unconditional love and companionship. Is this why? Did he know? Did he just walk away knowing he would die? He had to know that he was in pain.
☘ Lucky K9 Rescue pulled Elmer from County Animal Control. They were told of his lame leg and had the vet team on standby, they just wanted him out and to be free. The vet called today and what we were all afraid of is true. Elmer has an aggressive bone cancer. It started in the back of his leg which is very painful and is now in the bone marrow. We are lucky it has not reached his lungs. Elmer also has a collapsed trachea, how much more does this boy have to go through?
☘ This poor guy, can you imagine how scared & confused he had to be, and in all that pain. We are fortunate to have a great vet team. They have him on pain meds and he is in his loving Twilight Foster. His new Mom and Dad love him so much!
☘This is where we need your help and support. He might need to have the leg amputated because it is so painful. The cancer is aggressive and this will only help him from a pain perspective and will not help lengthen his life. We are currently coming up with a plan, bucket list, and we will do everything we can!! They said he could live another three to nine months, with all the love he has now, the support, we hope to exceed that diagnosis. #faith #fuckcancer #pappyelmer
This will take much more than just the rescue. We need you, so help Elmer can live his greatest time out yet, even through all of this. There are so many ways you can help.
