Who is Zeus Coats by Rose?

Lucky K9 Rescue was fortunate to make Rose’s acquaintance through her Aunt, who is a forever foster for one of our more challenging, yet loving pups, Tiana - a “Forever Lucky One”.

In the summer of 2018, Rose was a medical student, studying abroad when she started suffering from severe migraines - along with some confusion and loss of speech. She returned to the states only to have an MRI reveal she had a tumor taking up 1/6th of her brain - pathology further revealed the tumor was grade 4 glioblastoma. The silver lining was the tumor had a IDH1 mutation, which is a favorable mutation due to a 2016 breakthrough in research for treating tumors with this mutation. While this may take some of us off our feet, it didn’t stop Rose - her determination to not let this control her life is nothing short of amazing!! Through lots of prayer and determination she completed her chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Today, Rose is taking life one day at a time. She is on preventative medication because there still are bits of a tumor in her left temporal lobe. Nothing is stopping her from moving forward. She is teaching English virtually to children in China and volunteering, when she can, to help other cancer patients. Now she would like to give back by honoring her Aunt's dog, Zeus, who was a rescue, by making canine coats and helping Lucky K9 Rescue through the Zeus Coats fundraising effort.
